DIY Guide: How to install led headlight bulbs on Mazda 3

I have you my Mazda3 and today I want to replace those standard incandescent headlight bulbs with LED light bulbs. you see the difference while the left one is LED, and on the right to see is the incandescent. Now let me show you how all this is done.

Installation procedure:

1, I start here by opening up the hood and taking a look here on the passenger’s side first.

2, Then I just remove the connector from the light bulb and I release the rubber cover. And then we have a little clip on behind the bulb that we have to push into, and we have the halogen bulb.

3, As you see, on the back side, there’s still a little plastic adapter. This plastic adapter is actually what’s being held by the metal clip. it’s not the bulb itself. Since we don’t have the ability to reuse this adapter for the LED bulb until this year, this adapter just doesn’t fit there. There’s no place where you can put that, so we need to have a little alternative, that’s why I have found this adapter kit on ebay. They are the adapter for led headlight bulbs. And I’m going to install these baseless first. In order to do that, you just pull off the metal ring of the led headlight, and put the spacer on top of it and then once you’ve done that, you can reinstall this ring on this Mazda3 H7 led headlight bulb. This is how the led light bulb like with this plastic spacer in place.

4, Now we can now install this together spacer has the same thickness as the original plastic piece. Now when we install it, we first want to make sure that the knot on the metal ring can be put in the right location.

5, Now you just put this in and actually this is pretty difficult, you want to have some small hands at best to get that metal clip back in place. Once you did it. This is what that should look like, you see here the metal plastic spacer, and there’s the metal clip that fits in position and holds stuff.

6, Next, we’re trying to put this rubber piece back in place to protect the headlight from water, but this doesn’t really go over. So I wasn’t able to install this back again, and you know also you want to make sure when you plug in your the wiring, you still need this adapter to use that for a deal between the headlight bulb and the harness.

Then one halogen bulb has been changed to led light bulb. For the other one, you can do again follow my steps above.

And you can already see the difference in the daylight. The incandescent is much more yellow than the new LED ones. Now let’s have a look here at night. This is what the street looks like with the original bulbs.

And let’s compare this with the LED.

So what do you think is the difference?
